Well what the heck, why not? A painting thread. Here's some photos I was able to take at museums on my travels. I have a bunch but maybe you have some too? What's next a sculpture thread?

When I was living in L.A. I would go over to the Getty every now and again. My favorite painting in their permanent collection was this Rembrandt. I would sit there for long periods of every visit and look at it. It's incredible.

Thanks to everyone for posting such beautiful art in all the sections. It is giving my eyes and mind a welcome respite from the doldrums that completing the IRS paperwork for my nonprofit has induced. After muddling (or more accurately, procrastinating) through the mounds of paper for months, I am a firm believer that the IRS's shovel does not have a spade!
