Duncan,

Thanks for posting those.  I have never really looked at concert posters before and some of those are amazing.  I especially love the McCarthy ones.

Sure. I am glad that you are enjoying them. There are some artists out there doing some amazing work that most people will never see. This thread was just one way I thought I'd share their work with a few more people.

By the way, Dan McCarthy has a website if you are interested in looking. Here is the address: http://www.danmccarthy.org/

Cheers.

I posted an image of this poster earlier. It recently became the latest to get framed and hung in my office. Thought I'd share the finished product. They almost take on a whole new life when they're framed. I love the double mat colors on this.

I really like the '60s fillmore concert posters that incorporated the text into the architecture of the image. The one I uploaded is a classic from 1968. I discovered this web site that gives good background information as well: http://www.sixtiesposters.com

Are you familiar with Storm Thorgerson who did the Pink Floyd album covers and Audioslave covers? He has a neat web site that is fun to explore: http://www.stormthorgerson.com/html/nr/NR00.html If you click on "Work" and then "Nonmoving," you can select album covers, photos, posters, etc.

Hey Lynne... yeah, some of those old Fillmore posters are great. I am not sure that I mentioned this earlier, but if you are interested in more of that sort of thing, you should have a look at Wolfgang's Vault. They have all the rights to the Fillmore poster series. Loads of info there as well as many other rock goodies (shirts, photos, etc.).
