Who's house is it? Ha - forgive the football reference. Still psyched by the Broncos AFC West Division Champions!

I think the band could use a few good gig posters. Maybe even just a tour poster. I don't know. I could look into some general info. on a few of these designersif Todd was interested. I have contact with a good deal of them on a regular basis. Just let me know.

I think it is something that could be sold at venues - original silkscreen tour posters - and on the website. I think, if it were good, people would buy it. And if it's a good way of getting the band some advertising. Good, well-known designers have all sorts of people who buy their work regardless of the band. I have bought countless silkscreens of bands I had never heard and, just because of the poster (striking my curiosity), I gave them a listen.

Alright, I got the word from a very good designer that he usually arranges a monetary figure of, say, $500-$750 and then, say, about 50-75 posters of the lot. The band and/or venue gets the rest to sell and/or give out.

That way, the designer can get back some of his money by selling some of the posters for himself. The band makes the money from sales of what they get.

So, lets say you have a run of 300 posters. You give the designer $500-750 and 50-75 posters. He sells them at $25 a pop and makes $1250-1875 (on top the $500-750) to help cover his expenses (cost of printing) and time. The band gets 250 posters to sell, say, at $25 a pop (silkscreened. signed and numbered) at the venue and through the website. That's a cool $6250. Or even sell them for $15 (which may lure in more sales), and you're still talking about $3750. Not bad. AND you have a piece of art to celebrate a nice venue such as Red Rocks, Fillmore, the Vic, etc. etc.

The key is getting a good designer and making the thing worth while.

I think it's a good idea (but what the hell do I know?).

As I said, I would be happy to help in any way I can, Todd, if you think this is something you'd be interested in.

This is an art print (not a gig poster) from Daniel Danger. It's titled "... And I Need Sunny Days". He does gig posters as well.

Yeah, that Daniel Danger print is something else. I have tried to get my hands on one a few times. Just saw one on ebay a while back sell for some good cash. More than I could drop on a poster during the holidays.
